Nigeria's conjoined twins undergoes successful separation surgery


Conjoined twins Miracle and Testimony Ayeni were born November 16 2016. Joined at the lower half, each had two legs but shared one large intestine, two bladders and a pelvis. The twins have been patients at Le Bonheur Children’s hospital in Memphis since late June. Le Bonheur hospital planned for many months. The team comprised more than 20 surgeons. Le Bonheur surgeons formed two teams. Team Green cared for Miracle. Team Pink cared for Testimony. Separation surgery approximately lasted 18 hours. The separation surgery involved several specialties. Each step was carefully sequenced. Miracle and Testimony are separate and are healing.  More photos below;
