The first elected civilian Governor of Bayelsa state, Late Chief Deipreye Solomon Alamieyeseigha will finally be laid to rest on Saturday, April 9, in his Amassoma country home, Bayelsa state. This was disclosed by the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state, John Jonah. In his words;
“There will be a Youth/Student Activities in Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital; public lecture on Federalism and Development in Nigeria, by Prof. G.G Darah at the Banquet Hall, Yenagoa; Night of Songs and Tributes at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Yenagoa. “On Friday, April 8, there will be a Valedictory State Executive Council Session, at the Banquet Hall, Yenagoa and Wake-keep at his country home in Amassoma.”
There will be a Commendation Service on Saturday, April 9, to be followed by his internment in Amassoma, his country home. The Deputy Governor added that the burial ceremony will be concluded with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, April 10, at St. Peters Anglican Church, Yenagoa.
