Kogi makes history as Gov. Yahaya Bello is sworn in without a deputy

Yahaya Bello was on Wednesday sworn in as the Governor of Kogi state. James Faleke who was nominated by the All Progressives Congress to be Mr. Bello’s deputy made real his threat as he was conspicuously absent at the swearing in ceremony. This makes Kogi state the first state in history to swear in a governor without a deputy.

Mr. Bello was picked by the All Progressives Congress to replace its late candidate, Mr. Audu a decision
Faleke kicked against.  He contended that the election had been won and lost before Mr. Audu died and that he (Faleke) should have been pronounced governor-elect.
