Firefighter dies as building collapses on him while responding to distress call at Onitsha market (photo)

Fire fighter attached to the Abambra state fire service, Engr. Maxwell Afujue, died at the early hours of Monday morning after a building collapsed on him while responding to a distress call of fire outbreak at some part of Ochanga Market in Onitsha, Anambra state.

Late Maxwell arrived the market at about 3:00am with other fire fighters. While trying to control the fire, there was need to advance inside the market buildings. While advancing, part of a story building collapsed on them. Maxwell died instantly while one managed to escape with severe injuries. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
